Nonwoven fabric is a technical fabric in the form of a laminate, with flexible, porous fibres but no weave. It is manufactured by bonding fibres using mechanical, chemical or thermal processes without the need for weaving nor even needing to convert the fibres into thread. These fabrics tend not to be very strong unless their density is fortified or they are reinforced with other materials.
Some characteristics of nonwoven fabrics are: absorption capacity, impermeability, elasticity, fire resistance, softness, can be washed and sterilised. In addition, they are anti-bacterial, and depending on their density also offer a certain level of shock absorption. At Marina Textil, we combine nonwoven properties with fabric designed for specific uses.
