Protective fabrics for the gas industry

Fireproof fabrics are specially relevant in an industry where highly flammable materials are handled.

We consider the gas industry to encompass the following activities: technical gas cogeneration, storage, transportation, production, regasification and handling. In addition, all locations where these activities are carried out are considered ATEX zones.

It should be noted that all compressed gases are dangerous due to the pressure they exert inside cylinders, pipes, and storage tanks. These gases can be classified according to the risk to which workers are exposed in all gas industries: flammable and non-flammable, toxic and non-toxic, chemically unstable. Gases can also be classified according to their chemical characteristics (flammable, reactive, toxic) or physical characteristics (compressed, liquid, dissolved under pressure, cryogenic).

The main standards that must be met in this sector with regard to protective clothing and fabrics are EN ISO 11612, EN 1149-3/5, and EN 13034.

These are the protective fabrics for the gas industries developed by Marina Textil. Click on any of them for more information about their specifications.
