DESCRIPTION

MINIMUM COMPLIANCE VALUES

EN ISO 13937-2

Part 2: Determination of the tear force of samples in the shape of pants (Sole tear method).

For each fabric, 5 samples are tested in the warp direction and 5 samples in the weft direction.

This trial is also called the pants method, given that the sample is cut in that shape.

The sample is set in the clamps, with a “leg” in each of them. The dynamometer is started with a constant speed of 100 mm/min, setting one of the clamps in motion (moving clip). The tear continues until the spot marked 2.5 cm from the edge of the fabric is reached.

Breakage calculation: for each of the samples analysed, the resulting chart will be divided into 4 equal parts. The first one will be disregarded and the result will be calculated based on the other three values.
