The EN ISO 13938-2 test method determines bursting strength and bursting distension of knit fabrics.

MINIMUM COMPLIANCE VALUES

Part 2: A sample is fixed to a membrane by means of a clamping ring. An increasing flow of compressed air on the lower face of the membrane deforms both the membrane and the fabric. The pressure is softly increased until the test piece bursts (breakage). This is how the bursting strength and bursting distension of the fabric are determined.
The trial surface is 50 cm² (79.8 mm in diameter). If this surface cannot be made, the trial will be conducted with surfaces of 100 cm², 10 cm² o 7.3 cm².
